SCBF has supported 25 projects across 6 countries in the West African (WA) region to expand financial inclusion of the low-income and at-risk population. The projects cater to varied themes like agriculture, financial capability, resilience, and literacy focusing primarily on low-income clients, small-holder farmers, and women. These projects are exploring innovative ways of not only reaching out to low-income populations but also encouraging them to utilise financial products and solutions to be able to deal with adverse situations.

In 2023, we commissioned a study through MicroSave Consulting to explore and assess some of the projects being supported by SCBF in the WA region to draw important findings and learnings from them. We are pleased to share the key insights, learnings, and client experiences from the ground on these projects that will help,  encourage and guide everyone working in the financial inclusion space in this region and across.

The outcomes and learnings have been very encouraging, and they demonstrate that while the initiatives taken by our partners have not been easy to implement they are not impossible altogether, and on the ground positive impact is a testimonial to that. Here is a video showcasing the work being done by our partners and the impact created on the ground in Mali, Benin, and Togo.

Stay tuned ! Over the next couple of weeks, we will be sharing country-specific details in the form of infographics, case studies and blogs.
